Cardboard Gangsters follows the story of a group of young lads in Darndale, Dublin, led by Jay Connolly who sell drugs to make a living. They set out in a bid to gain more money and power and enter the big leagues of the drug trade. Things begin to unravel quickly as not everyone in Darndale is willing to let these Cardboard Gangsters achieve the notoriety they crave without a fight.

<><><>

Gritty often brutal look at the drugs underworld in Dublin, Ireland.
Performances were good but ohh the broad Irish accent was difficult to understand at times.

Starring : Joel Hogan/Josh Potthoff/Megan Peta Hill

<><><>

Three friends filming an audition tape for an extreme reality show, take part in shark cage diving, only to be left in great white infested waters, turning their recording into life and death.

How I hate found footage films...jerky camera work with much poor cinematography.
Dire script compliments...and the performances..well enough said.
Avoid

Fast and Furious 8 : The Fate of the Furious

<><><>

When a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before.

<><><>

A predictable at times fun ride in the Fast franchise.
Not as good as previous efforts but some neat action scenes lifts an otherwise average storyline.
Fast fans may like this film so worth a watch.

Armed Response

90 mins

Genre : Action/Horror/Sci-Fi/Thriller

Directed by : John Stockwell

<><><>

A team of highly trained operatives find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its AI is suddenly shut down. The crew begins to experience strange and horrific phenomena as they attempt to uncover what killed the previous team.

<><><>

Oh dear another Snipes failure.A low budget film and it shows it.
The performances were good but the storyline sucked.
However not a total right off, but with proper execution, could have been so much better.
Ohh there are stand out horror moments...

The Vault

Genre : Horror/Thriller

Directed by : Dan Bush

Starring : James Franco/Taryn Manning/Francesca Eastwood

<><><>

Two estranged sisters are forced to rob a bank in order to save their brother. But this is no ordinary bank.

<><><>

Not a bad effort for the budget ...and some good performances complimenmted.
I thought the pacing was a tad slow and the storyline average..
There was blood and gore later in the film so horror fans may like that.

The Mummy

Genre : Action/Adventure/Fantasy/Thriller

Directed by : Alex Kurtzman

Starring : Tom Cruise/Russell Crowe/Annabelle Wallis

<><><>

Though safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.

<><><>

Well another remake of soughts...not entirely though, more a stab at a new dark universe.
Cruise puts in his usual good performance but I felt he was miscast for this movie.
On the plus side some good special and visual effects.

Churchill
UK certificate PG
94 mins

Image

Genre : Biography/Drama/History/War

Directed by : Jonathan Teplitzky

Starring : Brian Cox/Miranda Richardson/John Slattery

<><><>

96 hours before the World War II invasion of Normandy, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill struggles with his severe reservations with Operation Overlord and his increasingly marginalized role in the war effort.

<><><>

Well I was looking forward to watching thisd movie portraying Churchill at one of the most important
part of the WW2. Cox puts in a good performance as Churchill in an otherwise historically inaccurate storyline.
That said it did entertain which I guess is the point of good film making.
I would think that fans of solid drama will like this

7/10

Chucky returns after the events of Curse of Chucky to continue terrorizing his wheelchair-prone human victim, Nica. Meanwhile, the killer doll has some scores to settle with his old enemies, with the help of his former wife.

Yet more chucky, in fact multiple chuckys...who hand out strong bloody violence and much gore.
One for Horror fans only me thinks
