As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods: legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors.

<><><>

Another hard hitting, often brutal & bloody series ..This time the Vikings.
Not as convoluted as "Game of Thrones", much more straight forwarded in Storyline & perhaps better for it.
So far so good...gripping tales of the period..and yes majestic cinematography compliments strong performances.

Image

Genre : Horror/Sci-Fi/Thriller

Close to a year later, Modern Defense Enterprises has sent a team of experts to document and investigate the mysterious occurrences, which only escalate upon their arrival. Tensions rise as the team must decide how far they will go to unlock the mysteries of “Skinwalker Ranch.” The group debates whether the answers are worth risking their lives for, or if they should just call off the investigation and leave the ranch—that is, if leaving is actually an option…

Another found footage style film...It is just another dramatization which runs off the rails in what is believable.

I had mixed feelings about this movie..... The first half was overly long to my mind and the script a tad lackluster. That said the performances were good particularly in the action sequences. The special effects were of course excellent.

Even after everything, there is still only one way you can really prove yourself: in combat... Many try to get into the S.A.S. Only the elite make it.

Eric Lomax was one of thousands of Allied prisoners of war forced to work on the construction of the Thai/Burma railway during WW2. His experiences, after the secret radio he built to bring news and hope to his colleagues was discovered, left him traumatised and shut off from the world. Years later, he met Patti, a beautiful woman, on a train and fell in love. Patti was determined to rid Eric of his demons. Discovering that the young Japanese officer who haunted her husband was still alive, she faced a terrible decision. Should Eric be given a chance to confront his tormentor? Would she stand by him, whatever he did?

A very powerful dramatisation, superbly acted....
Inspirational, Often touching, some times sad, heart warming, and at times brutal... a story which brings into play all the emotions of war and its aftermath.
You will be touched by this.....A movie which will stay with you long afterwards.

Highly recommended particularly to those that like a strong well acted drama.

Genre : Action/Adventure/Drama

Directed by : J.C. Chandor

Starring : Robert Redford

<><><>

Deep into a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, an unnamed man (Redford) wakes to find his 39-foot yacht taking on water after a collision with a shipping container left floating on the high seas. With his navigation equipment and radio disabled, the man sails unknowingly into the path of a violent storm. Despite his success in patching the breached hull, his mariner's intuition and a strength that belies his age, the man barely survives the tempest. Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.

An unusual drama as there is virtually no dialogue....
However the story line is well acted.....and I think Redford gives a strong performance of one man against the elements.
Visually stunning cinematography compliments.

touch your nerves...

Revenge indeed...much action...much fun...
I don't usually like martial arts films but this one is good...Well it is Scott Adkins and I have to say a step above the usual action.
