Recording & Watching demos

If you needed to record a demo (somekind of video of your gameplay) but don't know how then this topic is for you

Reasons
There are many reasons that may force you to record a demo
  • Almost all leagues require to provide demos
Clanbase wrote:All players must record demos from the whole match. Both clans may request the demos from the other clan during a match conflict (1on1: all, 2on2: 1 per map, 3on3: 2 per map, 4on4: 3 per map, 5on5: 4 per map). If a clan hasn't uploaded its demos on the ClanBase FTP within 3 days, a matchconflict can be made to request them.
  • As a proof of somebody cheating
  • As a proof of your innocence (regarding cheating)
  • Or just for your collection lol
Storage
- All recorded demos are saved at the \main\demos folder.
* If you record a demo while playing a mod then demos are stored at the \Mods\<Mod Name>\demos folder
- To watch demos drop them to the \players\demos folder.

Execution
Commands are executed via console
To open it press the ~ key
* If console doesnt pop up (at the top of the screen) check your options (Options -> Game options -> Enable console)

Command list
  • /record <filename (optional)>
    - Records demo
    * If filename is not specified, the demo will be saved with the demoXXXX filename
  • /stoprecord
    - Stops recording
  • /demo <filename>
    - Plays the demo with the specified filename
  • /disconnect
    - Stops playing the demo
Binds
To make recording demos easier you may bind record and stoprecord commands (aswell as all others)
  • /bind <KEY> <COMMAND1>;<COMMAND2>;....
    - Binds the specified key to execute the specified commands
    * If you specify more than 1 command then you must enclose them in quotes (look example)
    Examples

    Code: Select all

    /bind o record
    /bind p stoprecord
    /bind p "stoprecord;screenshotJpeg"
    /bind p "stoprecord;screenshotJpeg;say good game"
    etc

  • /unbind <KEY>
    - Removes a bind
