Believing he is responsible for the deaths of his wife and child, an enigmatic Pakistani businessman tracks him down, leading to a harrowing confrontation. <><><>A slow burning drama well acted, but an average storyline which lets it down. Not particularly thrilling either. 5.5/10 PilgrimageUK certificate 18 92 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Drama Directed by : Brendan Muldowney Starring : Richard Armitage/Tom Holland/Jon Bernthal <><><>In 13th century Ireland a group of monks must escort a sacred relic across an Irish landscape fraught with peril. <><><>Strong and compelling medieval adventure-drama often brutal and bloody.... Bleak and uncompromising the only down side was the ending.. The storyline is somewhat improbable and a tad average.. However the performances were fine as were the special effects... One for Rodriguez fans.... 5/10

Jackson/Brie Larson <><><>A team of scientists explore an uncharted island in the Pacific, venturing into the domain of the mighty Kong, and must fight to escape a primal Eden. <><><>An indifferent storyline made for an average film..only lifted by some good visual effects. It was entertaining in its way but don't expect award winning performances. 6.5/10 Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child aka Origin WarsUK certificate 15 95 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Drama/Horror/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Shane Abbess Starring : Kellan Lutz/Daniel MacPherson/Isabel Lucas <><><>Set in a time of interplanetary colonization, Sy Lombrok, a former nurse who is now a drifter with a haunted past, forms an unlikely alliance with Kane Sommerville, a lieutenant who works for off-world military contractor Exor. The crew determines that the sample contains a large, single-celled organism - the first example of life beyond Earth. But..things aren't always what they seem. As the crew begins to conduct research, and their methods end up having unintended consequences, the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected. <><><>This film got a bashing from the critics but for me it was at least entertaining.. However I think it will appeal to drama fans who like a biography style film. 6.5/10 InfernoUK certificate 15 115 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery/Thriller Directed by : Ron Howard Starring : Tom Hanks/Ben Foster/Sidse Babett Knudsen <><><>After waking up in a hospital with amnesia, professor Robert Langdon and a doctor must race against time to foil a deadly global plot. <><><>An adaption from the book which was entertaining enough but nothing special.. Hardly a mystery and the ending was different from the book... Still if you have not read Dan Brown's novels then you will be none the wiser.. 6/10

With no communication, and nowhere to hide, they realize their only chance for survival is to fight. <><><>An average low budget film with some good moments in an all to familiar storyline. Visual effects were good and I guess the director wanted to revisit 1980's style fun Sc-Fi for the plots. I don't think he pulled it off... 4.5/10

The storyline is ok but could have been a whole lot better.. However performances were fine and complimented good cinematography. Not as good as previous outings then, but I guess Alien fans should like this film. 6.5/10 Larceny aka Maximum SecurityUK certificate 15 85 mins Genre : Action/Thriller Directed by : R. THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED BaywatchUK certificate 15 111 mins Genre : Action/Comedy/Crime Directed by : Seth Gordon Starring : Dwayne Johnson/Zac Efron/ Alexandra Daddario <><><>Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon butts heads with a brash new recruit. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay. <><><>I tried to like this film but the humor was childish and rather crude, That said there were some good one liners.. So if you like brash and flashy film with well tanned bodies strutting there stuff then I guess you will like this. 6/10 First KillUK certificate 15 97 mins Genre : Action/Thriller Directed by : Steven C. Miller Starring : Bruce Willis/Hayden Christensen/Ty Shelton <><><>In an attempt to reconnect with his son Danny, successful Wall Street broker Will takes his family on a vacation to the cabin where he grew up. When Danny is taken hostage by the criminals, Will is forced to help them evade the police chief investigating the murder and recover the stolen money in exchange for his son's life. <><><>Not a bad effort but still a tad average mainly due to many plot holes. Bruce Willis was his usual laconic self bu failed to lift and otherwise mediocre storyline. 5.5/10 King Arthur : Legend of the SwordUK certificate 15 121 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Drama/Fantasy Directed by : Guy Ritchie Starring : Charlie Hunnam/Jude Law/Astrid Berges-Frisbey <><><>When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern, Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Much action complimented by good special effects and cinematography. If you liked Ritchie's Sherlock Holm's films then I think you will like this. Just to add that the musical score was excellent. Recommended 7/10

There was blood and gore later in the film so horror fans may like that. 5.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILM ON DVD REVIEWED The MummyUK certificate 15 106 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Fantasy/Thriller Directed by : Alex Kurtzman Starring : Tom Cruise/Russell Crowe/Annabelle Wallis <><><>Though safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension. <><><>Well another remake of soughts...not entirely though, more a stab at a new dark universe. Cruise puts in his usual good performance but I felt he was miscast for this movie. On the plus side some good special and visual effects. 6.5/10 ChurchillUK certificate PG 94 mins Genre : Biography/Drama/History/War Directed by : Jonathan Teplitzky Starring : Brian Cox/Miranda Richardson/John Slattery <><><>96 hours before the World War II invasion of Normandy, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill struggles with his severe reservations with Operation Overlord and his increasingly marginalized role in the war effort. <><><>Well I was looking forward to watching thisd movie portraying Churchill at one of the most important part of the WW2. Cox puts in a good performance as Churchill in an otherwise historically inaccurate storyline. That said it did entertain which I guess is the point of good film making. I would think that fans of solid drama will like this 7/10 Cult of ChuckyUK certificate 18 87 mins Genre : Horror/Thriller Directed by : Don Mancini Starring : Allison Dawn Doiron/Alex Vincent/Fiona Dourif/Brad Dourif <><><>Chucky returns after the events of Curse of Chucky to continue terrorizing his wheelchair-prone human victim, Nica. Meanwhile, the killer doll has some scores to settle with his old enemies, with the help of his former wife. <><><>Yet more chucky, in fact multiple chuckys...who hand out strong bloody violence and much gore. One for Horror fans only me thinks 5.5/10
