Re: FILMS on DVD Reviewed

10,000 BC (2008)

A prehistoric epic that follows a young mammoth hunter named D'Leh's journey through uncharted territory to secure the future of his tribe. When a band of mysterious horse-riding warlords raid the Yaghal camp and kidnaps his heart's desire - the beautiful Evolet along with many others, D'Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters south to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. Driven by destiny, the unlikely band of warriors must battle saber-toothed cats and terror birds in the Levant.

I must say its an under-rated movie, better than people say....

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM (2008)

Kung Fu Panda

It's the story about a lazy, irreverent slacker panda, named Po, who is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around...which doesn't exactly come in handy while working every day in his family's noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po's dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five -- Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey -- under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it's up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart - and his girth - into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.

ANOTHER

The Cottage UK Certificate 18

Directed by Paul Andrew Williams.

Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), bound, gagged and unconscious, is locked in the trunk of the car. Her black sheep step-brother Andrew (Steven O'Donnell) is also in on the scheme. The kidnapping however goes completely wrong with Tracey turning the tables on her captors and escaping with Peter as a hostage. David and Andrew follow them into the woods but they soon discover something far more terrifying is lurking in the darkness. The stage is set for a grotesquely comic battle for survival when our characters encounter a maniacal Farmer. Who will survive and what will be left of them?

Well Acted and Funny in places.....Special Effects compliment the storyline.....Hilariously Gory...
Horribly Funny....Deliciously Dark Laughs............

Yes all of those....

The Thin Red Line (1998)

In World War II, the outcome of the battle of Guadalcanal will strongly influence the Japanese's advance into the pacific. A group of young soldiers is brought in as a relief for the battle-weary Marine units.

Excellent, the best (anty)war movie ever. Nominated for 7 Oscars... Just must watch it

P.S. Its not like Rambo (100000 kills) so action-movies fans will be disappointed

10/10 with MeF's recommendation 8)
