ANOTHER REVIEW

Outpost UK Certificate 18

Directed by Steve Barker

As War ravages Eastern Europe, a battle hardened team sets off on a mission, facing an enemy powerful and evil enough to turn these violent, seemingly indestructable men into quivering victims..........
they fight there way to a half century old underground Nazi bunker, a place where soldiers were experimented on..........

This is a powerful well acted Film with good story line & shocks, a good Horror thriller.................

I recommend to all who like Horror with an Adult theme.....

   (out of Five)

ANOTHER REVIEW...

Feast UK Certificate 18

When a motley crew of strangers find themselves trapped in a isolated tavern, they must band together in a battle for survival against a family of flesh hungary creatures............................

Well this is a typical B Movie horror film....not strong on storyline, but strong on gore & horror.
The acting is good, special effects OK...But i was left wondering whether I was watching a black comedy or a horror film with less than scary moments.

  (out of Five)

ANOTHER REVIEW

Breathing Room UK Certificate 15

Directed by John Suits

Restrained by lethal collars, the players must utilize hints & tools from a box marked "pieces" to find both an exit & the reason for their abduction. One by one they are eliminated as their curfew begins & the lights go out..........................With each dead body comes another clue...

Reasonably acted, but to my mind not convincing as was Cube. The tension in the storyline is there for a while but i felt my attention wondering. The special effects are so so too.
So all in all one for a rainy day ..............

 (out of five)

Training Day (2001)

Just got this on DVD, awesome cop thriller which is intense and gritty. Denzel washington never fails to impress, great performance as the rogue cop whos Police work tends to find corruption. Detective Alonzo harris (washington) has 24 hours to train new applicant Jake Hoyt (Hawke) the basics of narcotics work through the gang lit streets of LA; however Hoyt starts to have second thoughts on alonzos style when it comes to seeking justice.

Really cool film with a great cast 8)

ANOTHER REVIEW

Starship Troopers 3 : Marauder UK Certificate 15

Directed by Ed Neumeier

Col. Jonny Rico is back to lead his team on a secret mission to rescue a small crew of Troopers stranded on the remote planet OM-1....As the stranded troopers fight to survive the harsh conditions, it begins to dawn on them that something on OM-1 is very, very wrong.................................

This is the third outing in the series and I have to say the worst....It is not a patch on the Original directed by Paul Verhoeven.
The acting, Storyline and special effects are so so at best...You just get the feeling we have been there before...Nothing outstandingly original, even the new Marauder suits fail to impress.

I can only recommend this film to die hard Sci-Fi enthusiasts.........

5/10

Reeker 2, The Rise of Reeker UK Certificate 15

Directed by Dave Payne

It is business as usual at the 6 corners Travel Shop in Death Valley until three fugitives have the fateful bad luck to run straight into a battle-weary sheriff & his deputy.
Cornered into a bloody Mexican stand-off, a brtal fire fight causes death & destruction all across the once sleep rest stop.....But something worse is about to happen, something unexplainable & terrifying beyond words...........
Terror lurks between the living & the dead...

Yep a nice horror movie,, good acting & great special effects...The storyline is gripping if predictable in places, nevertheless exciting stuff.

Wind Chill UK Certificate 15

Directed by Gregory Jacobs

Taking a short cut down a remote country road, and caught in a raging snowstorm, two young travellers are suddenly forced off the road by a mysterious car. Stranded they soon realise the cold is the least of their worries??¦

A good horror film, slow to start but builds into a nice little chiller.
Excellant acting and good special effects keeps the surprises and menace in the storyline.

Species 4 The Awakening UK Certificate 15

Directed by Nick Lyon

When a brilliant college professor Miranda Hollander suffers a mysterious blackout & awakens amid the bloody aftermath of a mass slaughter, she turns to her uncle for answers. But when he reveals the shocking truth......that she is half human, a clone from a hybrid of human & alien DNA, they must flee to Mexico to find the scientist who created her...but other hybrids have other ideas for her..............

Yes the 4th outing in the Species series, fairly mundane fare, although the acting is good as is the special effects.
So so horror...
