I read long time ago when T2 brought Irrational Games and I thought it was not bad, but that so sad to read that.

If they shutter, maybe there's a chance for the soruce code to be released on GNU GPL licence. It's probably not a common thing but last year something like this happened. A Polish community acquired the soruce code of Colobot for further development. http://colobot.info/license.jpg

I have the Source Code ;P
Some time ago a known guy (who created a known cheat ;P ) uploaded not only Classes and Headers, but all cpp engine stuff... link broken

Swat's owner is Actvision.
Engine owner is Epicgames. (A old engine btw)
Masterserver owner is... well forgot it.
Many logos and trademarks involved.

I like the old swat with their bugs and etc.
I just hope that some 'new' community Swat be just a 'remake'
Just wait for UDK UE4 support and interested ppl, like McTash.

EDIT: btw, when I give no weapons to VIP Rescue bot its like Division 9... just need make them bite me.

Why are you suggesting Irrational Games is dying?

The founder wrote he would like to get back to a smaller structure.
He explicitely wrote he would fire all but 15 members and will redefine his 'endeavor and [...] goal'.

At least, after 17 years of 'the usual stuff', he has got inspiration & motivation back. Sounds like good news.

IG is now a branch of Take2...this is not bad for workers but it become a small branch, and probably too small to create a full game like Bioshock.

But wait and see, but I'm not so confident.
