THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Blade Runner 2049UK certificate 15 157 mins Genre : Drama/Mystery/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Denis Villeneuve Starring : Harrison Ford/Ryan Gosling/Ana de Armas <><><> Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. <><><> A slow paced outing that will appeal to Sci-Fi fans who like dramas...personally I thought the film to long. The special & visual effects were top draw and complimented by excellent performances. But I felt that the storyline was average giving rise to some plot holes. Nevertheless worth a watch.... 7.5/10 Alien Reign of ManUK certificate 15 84 mins Genre : Sci-Fi Directed by : Justin Price Starring : Khu/Torrei Hart/Deanna Grace Congo <><><> Stranded on a distant planet, a team must fight aliens and activate a machine meant to restore Earth to a time before its downfall. <><><> This film could have been better but consisted of disjointed storyline and bad dialogue, complimented, if that's the word, by poor acting.. The best feature was the visual effects but that was about all... 3.5/10 Flatliners (2017) UK certificate 15 110 mins Genre : Drama/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Niels Arden Oplev Starring : Ellen Page/Diego Luna/Nina Dobrev <><><> Five medical students, obsessed by what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods, each triggers a near-death experience - giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. <><><> A remake of the 1990 film of the same name and not a particularly good one. Unremarkable story and performances..... an average all rounder. 5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Mother!UK certificate 18 116 mins Genre : Drama/Horror/Mystery Directed by : Darren Aronofsky Starring : Jennifer Lawrence/Javier Bardem/Ed Harris <><><> A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. <><><> A rather convoluted storyline and plot which in many ways is Aronofsky's trade mark. Well enough performed with some good visual effects especially in the escalating violence. If you liked Aronofsky's other films. such as "Pi" and "The Fountain", you will also like this. 6.5/10 The RitualUK certificate 15 90 mins Genre : Horror Directed by : David Bruckner Starring : Rafe Spall/Arsher Ali/Robert James-Collier <><><> A group of college friends reunite for a trip to the forest, but encounter a menacing presence in the woods that's stalking them. <><><> Nicely performed with engaging characters and storyline. The special and visual effects were ok to.... The only down side is have we not trod this path before. One for Horror fans. 6.5/10 Wind RiverUK certificate 15 111 mins Genre : Crime/Drama/Mystery/Thriller Directed by : Taylor Sheridan Starring : Kelsey Asbille/Jeremy Renner/Julia Jones <><><> A veteran tracker with the Fish and Wildlife Service helps to investigate the murder of a young Native American woman, and uses the case as a means of seeking redemption for an earlier act of irresponsibility which ended in tragedy. <><><> I enjoyed this film for its gripping storyline and top draw performances.. The cinematography was excellent putting you right in there with the wintery scenes. If you like a mystery drama with guts then watch this film. 7.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED BrimstoneUK certificate 18 143 mins Genre : Thriller/Western Directed by : Martin Koolhoven Starring : Dakota Fanning/Paul Anderson/Kit Harington <><><> In the menacing inferno of the old American West, Liz is a genuine survivor who is hunted by a vengeful preacher for a crime she didn’t commit. <><><> A brutal storyline told in four chapters is often violent and certainly bloody. The performances are good and in keeping with the period.... Full marks for the cinematography and musical score. Recommended 7.5/10 GeostormUK certificate 12 108 mins Genre : Action/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Dean Devlin Starring : Gerard Butler/Jim Sturgess/Abbie Cornish <><><> After an unprecedented series of natural disasters threatened the planet, the world's leaders came together to create an intricate network of satellites to control the global climate and keep everyone safe. But now, something has gone wrong: the system built to protect Earth is attacking it, and it becomes a race against the clock to uncover the real threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out everything and everyone. <><><> This film got mixed reviews but I enjoyed it for what it is...A Sci-Fi romp. The performances were fine as were the special and visual effects. The only down side was that some of the science was a bit iffy. Still it is meant to entertain not educate.. Worth a watch 6.5/10 Wunderland aka Battle of the BulgeUK certificate 15 81 mins Genre : War Directed by : Steven Luke Starring : Tom Berenger/Wade Everett/Steven Luke <><><> Christmas 1944, The Germans make one final push against the attacking allied armies in the West. Lt. Robert Cappa and his platoon of 2nd Infantry Division soldiers have been ordered to hold a vital road junction against the German aggressors. Cappa and his men must find their faith and strength to stand against their enemy in the epic fight known as "The Battle of The Bulge." <><><> Dear me what a stinker....This film was done to a small budget and it shows.. The script was poor as was the storyline along with some silly visual effects. If you wont to watch a decent film of the battle then watch the 1965 version starring Henry Fonda and Robert Shaw (DVD available). 2.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED JigsawUK certificate 18 88 mins Genre : Crime/Horror/Mystery/Thriller Directed by : Michael & Peter Spierig Starring : Matt Passmore/Tobin Bell/Callum Keith Rennie/Hannah Emily Anderson <><><> Bodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one suspect: John Kramer, the man known as Jigsaw, who has been dead for over 10 years. <><><> Yet another in the Saw franchise and a tad average at that. Sure enough the gore is up there and the visual effects were good, but the storyline was predictable.... One for horror fans only. 6/10 RenegadesUK certificate 12 115 mins Genre : Action/Crime/Drama/Thriller/War Directed by : Steven Quale Starring : J.K. Simmons/Sullivan Stapleton/Charlie Bewley <><><> A team of Navy SEALs discover an underwater treasure in a Bosnian lake. <><><> This film got mixed reviews but I found it ok if you ignore the boring parts... I think the action was dumb-ed down to meet the certificate rating... Still not all bad. 5.5/10 Thor : RagnarokUK certificate 12 125 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Comedy/Fantasy/Sci-Fi Directed by : Taika Waititi Starring : Chris Hemsworth/Tom Hiddleston/Cate Blanchett <><><> Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. <><><> Another fun ride in the Thor franchise with outstanding special and visual effects complimenting a good storyline. If you like Marvel films then you should like this.. Recommended 7.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Future Justice aka Escape from EarthUK certificate 15 80 mins Genre : Action/Sci-Fi Directed by : Richard Griffin Starring : Nathaniel Sylva/Aaron Andrade/Steven O'Broin <><><> In the future Saturn's moon of Titan houses a prison where Earth's worst criminals are kept awaiting their return to Earth for trial and execution. One of those criminals, Python Diamond, is being flown back to Earth, escorted by five members of the military police. Upon their return to Earth, they find that a cataclysmic nuclear war has reduced the world to a near-lifeless husk. Searching for survivors and any clue as to the cause of the destruction leads the six to a warehouse bunker housing scientists who constitute Earth's last remaining hope for the future. But a gang who are looking for resources has detected the spacecraft when it landed. <><><> Not a bad effort for the low budget but could have been a whole lot better. The performances were ok to a point, some were barely average As for the special and visual effects these were well done considering the budget. One for Sc-Fi nuts only me thinks 5/10 Jupiter's MoonUK certificate 15 122 mins Genre : Drama/Sci-Fi Directed by : Kornél Mundruczó Starring : Merab Ninidze/Zsombor Jéger/György Cserhalmi Special note : Hungarian language film with some English and sub-titles. <><><> A young immigrant is shot down while illegally crossing the border. Terrified and in shock, wounded Aryan can now mysteriously levitate at will. Thrown into a refugee camp, he is smuggled out by Dr Stern, intent on exploiting his extraordinary secret. Pursued by enraged camp director Laszlo, the fugitives remain on the move in search of safety and money. Inspired by Aryan's amazing powers, Stern takes a leap of faith in a world where miracles are trafficked for small change... <><><> I am not sure why they chose the title "Jupiter's Moon" perhaps for the word Europa Anyway, this film has an engrossing storyline and is well acted throughout. The visual effects are good particularly the levitation scenes... I felt that the ending was somewhat underwhelming.. 6.5/10 Murder On The Orient ExpressUK certificate 12 109 mins Genre : Crime/Drama/Mystery Directed by : Kenneth Branagh Starring : Kenneth Branagh/Penélope Cruz/Willem Dafoe <><><> Genius Belgian detective Hercule Poirot investigates the murder of an American tycoon aboard the Orient Express train. <><><> This is of course a remake of the 1974 Sidney Lumet classic featuring Albert Finney in the starring role. This Film's storyline is good and follows the original work pretty well. The acting is top draw, and is complimented by excellent cinematography. To be sure the film got mixed reviews but I enjoyed it as good entertainment. I guess Drama fans will like this to. 7/10

Performances were top draw and set the scene well enough. Those that like solid drama will surely like this.... 7.5/10 The SnowmanUK certificate 15 114 mins Genre : Crime/Drama/Mystery/Thriller Directed by : Tomas Alfredson Starring : Michael Fassbender/Rebecca Ferguson/Charlotte Gainsbourg <><><> Detective Harry Hole investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous looking snowman. <><><> Loosely based on a a book "The Snowman" by Jo Nesbo is well enough acted but the character development is lacking as well as the storyline. That said I enjoyed the film for what it was a good mystery.... The photography was excellent portraying the Norwegian wintry landscape and setting the scene. I must mention the special effects which were top draw. 6.5/10 Wish UponUK certificate 15 Genre : Fantasy/Horror/Thriller Directed by : John R. Leonetti Starring : Joey King/Ryan Phillippe/Ki Hong Lee <><><> A teenage girl discovers a box with magical powers, but those powers comes with a deadly price. <><><> A rather timid horror outing liken to "Final Destination" without the punch, blood and gore. I think young folk might like this film.... 5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Megan Leavey aka RexUK certificate 12 112 mins Genre : Adventure/Biography/Drama/War Directed by : Gabriela Cowperthwaite Starring : Kate Mara/Ramon Rodriguez/Tom Felton <><><> Based on the true life story of a young Marine corporal whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq. <><><> A heartfelt often poignant storyline with neat action scenes and enjoyable exploration of emotional bond between a human and dog As it is I wondered about the dog part and how it was portrayed..but I need not have worried, it was top notch. The characterization was good to.. Recommended 7.5/10 Walking with the EnemyUK certificate 15 108 mins Genre : Action/Drama/History/Romance/War Directed by : Mark Schmidt Starring : Jonas Armstrong/Ben Kingsley/Hannah Tointon <><><> Regent Horthy is the leader of Hungary and a German ally, but his favorable standing with Hitler changes as the war comes to an end. In a race against time, disguised as a Nazi Officer he embarks on a mission to save his family and thousands of his countrymen. <><><> A fast paced, in the face storyline of this period in Hungary at war's end. Performances were excellent and complimented by good characterization. All in all a solid drama... Worth a watch especially drama fans. 7/10 Alien ConvergenceUK certificate 83 mins Genre : Action/Horror/Sci-Fi Directed by : Rob Pallatina Starring : Caroline Ivari, Stephen Brown, Ikaika Jonathan <><><> When flying reptilian creatures wreak havoc all over the world, the survivors’ only hope of stopping them is a new, state-of-the-art fighter jet piloted by the only team that knows how to use the technology. <><><> Oh dear complete rubbish..Just about poor in every way.. The special effects were dire as was the storyline. This film has nothing to do with the "Alien"franchise Avoid 1.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Justice LeagueUK certificate 12 115 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Fantasy Directed by : Zack Snyder Starring : Ben Affleck/Gal Gadot/Jason Momoa <><><> Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince assemble a team of metahumans consisting of Barry Allen, Arthur Curry and Victor Stone to face the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and the Parademons who are on the hunt for three Mother Boxes on Earth. <><><> This outing in the franchise got mixed reviews... I enjoyed it for what it was a fun ride of visual effects, even though the storyline was simple. Yes there are flaws such as average editing, but I was entertained and at the end of the day, that is what matters. Worth a watch.. 7/10 24 Hours to LiveUK certificate 15 90 mins Genre : Action/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Brian Smrz Starring : Ethan Hawke/Rutger Hauer/Paul Anderson <><><> An assassin seeks redemption after being given a second chance at life. <><><> A decent action movie with good fight choreography. Performances were excellent too and in keeping with the storyline... I particularly liked the special effects which were top notch... Worth a watch 6.5/10 Lost in the PacificUK certificate 15 89 mins Genre : Adventure/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Vincent Zhou Starring : Brandon Routh/Yuqi Zhang/Russell Wong <><><> A group of VIP elite passengers become stranded on a remote mysterious island after their luxury airliner makes an emergency landing. As they await and plan their rescue, they soon realize that the island may have an even darker deadlier secret that none of them will survive. <><><> This is somewhat a poor movie with average storyline and performances. The visual effects were lack luster and reminded me of anime style films. Better CGI would have helped but as it is one for late night viewing. 4/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Alien Contagion aka Bio SlimeUK certificate 15 87 mins Genre : Horror/Sci-Fi Directed by : John Lechago Starring : Vinnie Bilancio/Victoria De Mare/Ronnie Lewis <><><> Seven misfits are trapped by a flesh eating slime creature. <><><> Not a bad try considering the budget... The visual effects were good but the acting was somewhat average. Ohh plenty of nude girls to keep your attention ! 5/10 Tango OneUK certificate 15 112 mins Genre : Crime/Drama Directed by : Sacha Bennett Starring : Richie Campbell/Vincent Regan/Sophie Colquhoun <><><> When three undercover recruits are assigned an impossible mission to take down one of the world's most wanted man, notorious drug dealer, Den Donovan (Vincent Regan), they have no idea who they are dealing with. As the undercover recruits inch closer to their target, they are each drawn in by the charismatic criminal leader - too close, perhaps, to remember the rules. <><><> I enjoyed this film, flaws and all. Regan puts in a good performance as do the supporting cast... There were some scenes which left you wondering "what was that all about" Still a neat crime drama. 6/10 Wings of Eagles aka On Wings of EaglesUK certificate 12 96 mins Genre : Drama/History/Sport Directed by : Stephen Shin/Michael Parker Starring : Joseph Fiennes/Bruce Locke/Jesse Kove <><><> Eric Liddell - China's first gold medalist and one of Scotland's greatest athletes - returns to war-torn China. <><><> An ok story of Eric Liddell with good performances all round. The only minor gripe was that the Japanese interment camp looked neat and tidy. Still it is a matter of whether the film entertains and for me it did. One for Drama sport fans me thinks. 6.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Star Wars Episode VIII : The Last JediUK certificate 12 146 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Fantasy/Sci-Fi Directed by : Rian Johnson Starring : Daisy Ridley/John Boyega/Mark Hamill <><><> Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares for battle with the First Order. <><><> This outing in the franchise got mixed reviews and I can see why.. The storyline is not up to previous episodes nor are the plots and the film was to long.. On a positive note the performances were good as where the excellent visual effects.. Star Wars fans maybe disappointed but I can say I enjoyed the ride. Worth a watch 7/10 HickokUK certificate 15 85 mins Genre : Western Directed by : Timothy Woodward Jr. Starring : Luke Hemsworth/Kris Kristofferson/Trace Adkins <><><> Legendary Lawman and Gunslinger Wild Bill Hickok, is tasked with taming the wildest cow-town in the West, while delivering his own brand of frontier Justice and infamous gunfighter's reputation as the fastest draw in the West is put to the test.... <><><> This is very much an average western in all respects except for the acting which was in general ok. A pity really as there are few westerns coming out of Hollywood these days. One for late night viewing me thinks.. 5.5/10 The Minds Eye aka Supernatural ForcesUK certificate 18 87 mins Genre : Action/Horror/Sci-Fi Directed by : Joe Begos Starring : Graham Skipper/Lauren Ashley Carter/John Speredakos <><><> Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers. After a daring escape, they are free from his sinister institution, but the corrupt doctor will stop at nothing to track them down so that he may continue to siphon their gifts for his own use. <><><> I enjoyed this film as it reminded me of David Cronenberg's "Scanners". Much violent bloody action and gore especially towards the end of the film.. The visual and special effects are good considering the low budget Fans of the genre will like this.. 6/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Accident ManUK certificate 15 101 mins Genre : Action/Crime/Thriller Directed by : Jesse V. Johnson Starring : Scott Adkins/Ray Stevenson/Ashley Greene <><><> Mike Fallon, the Accident Man, is a stone cold killer. When a loved one is murdered by his own crew, Fallon is forced to avenge the one person who actually meant something to him. <><><> A neat action film with good fight choreography complimented by a good storyline with some comic under tones. Violent it is so fans of the genre should like it... Worth a watch 6.5/10 Zodiac: Signs of the Apocalypse aka Apocalypse TomorrowUK Certificate 15 86 mins Genre : Action/Sci-Fi Directed by : W.D. Hogan Starring : Joel Gretsch/Aaron Douglas/Reilly Dolman <><><> A 2,000-year-old astrology board possesses deadly powers that threaten the fate of humanity. <><><> I keep saying that Visual effects for Sci-Films cannot generally done on a low budget and so it is here. To top this off the actors looked bored and at best wooden with a storyline which promised much but did not deliver. One to forget I think. 3/10 Tall MenUK certificate 15 128 mins Genre : Fantasy/Horror/Thriller Directed by : Jonathan Holbrook Starring : Dan Crisafulli, Kay Whitney, Richard Garcia <><><> A challenged man is stalked by tall phantoms in business suits after he purchases a car with a mysterious black credit card. <><><> A weird ride often difficult to fathom and if that is not all nothing much seems to happen. The actor who played the mentally challenged character does a good job even though there is a lack of dialogue.. A bit of a let down 4/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED Age of IceUK certificate 15 85 mins Genre : Adventure/Sci-Fi Directed by : Emile Edwin Smith Starring : Barton Bund/Bailey Spry/Jules Hartley <><><> When sudden and massive earthquakes open the Arabian tectonic plate, the result is unstable weather and freezing temperatures that will be unsurvivable by nightfall. Attempting to reach safety, a vacationing American family in Egypt, the Jones', must battle the rapidly cooling temperatures that usher in a new Ice Age, covering the Sphinx, Pyramids, and Sahara Desert with mountains of snow. <><><> This film should have been buried under snow... Terrible visual effects, poor storyline, bad acting and irritating characters complimented by a nonexistent plot. Avoid 1.5/10 Desert Storm aka ThirstUK certificate 18 88 mins Genre : Drama/War Directed by : Kevin Singh Starring : Monré Aucamp/Maxine Classen/Gerald Copeland <><><> Two best friends are pitted against each other when a new girl comes to town, matters are further complicated when they enlist together in the U S Army to fight in the Persian Gulf War, the men and their unit captured by Iraqi forces and must work together with other prisoners of war to escape .. <><><> First off the DVD cover art bares little resemblance to the film except the desert part .. We are treated to a trek through the desert for most of the movie with little action. This was most certainly made to a very low budget... Watch at your peril 2.5/10 SuburbiconUK certificate 15 104 mins Genre : Crime/Drama/Mystery/Thriller Directed by : George Clooney Starring : Matt Damon/Julianne Moore/Oscar Isaac <><><> In the bosom of Suburbicon, a family-centered, all-white utopia of manicured lawns and friendly locals, a simmering tension is brewing, as the first African-American family moves in the idyllic community, in the hot summer of 1959. However, as the patriarch Gardner Lodge and his family start catching a few disturbing glimpses of the once welcoming neighborhood's dark underbelly, acts of unprecedented violence paired with a gruesome death will inevitably blemish Suburbicon's picture-perfect facade. <><><> An interesting film with good performances and storyline.. Yes it had mixed reviews but as I keep saying if it entertains, which it did fr me, then it has done it's job. Not for everyone then perhaps drama fans will like this. 6/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED HostilesUK certificate 15 128 mins Genre : Adventure/Drama/Western Directed by : Scott Cooper Starring : Christian Bale/Rosamund Pike/Wes Studi <><><> A legendary Native American-hating Army captain nearing retirement in 1892 is given one last assignment: to escort a Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous territory back to his Montana reservation. <><><> This is not a western of shooting and long sequences of action..more a well paced intense drama complimented by top draw performances. The action sequences are short but are in keeping with the storyline. Cinematography is exceptional as is the direction. Not for everyone then but those that like good solid drama should like this. Recommended 8/10 Cold SkinUK certificate 15 102 mins Genre : Adventure/Horror/Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Xavier Gens Starring : Ray Stevenson/David Oakes/Aura Garrido <><><> On the edge of the Antarctic Circle, in the years after World War I, a steam ship approaches a desolate island far from all shipping lanes. On board is a young man, on his way to assume the lonely post of weather observer, to live in solitude for a year at the end of the world. But on shore he finds no trace of the man whom he has been sent to replace, just a deranged castaway who has witnessed a horror he refuses to name. The rest is forest, a deserted cabin, rocks, silence, and the surrounding sea. And then the night begins to fall... <><><> An atmospheric film with good cinematography and musical score. The performances were fine but let down by plot holes in the storyline. Hardly a horror film more a dramatic tale, still worth a watch. 6.5/10 Guardians of the Tomb aka 7 Guardians of the TombUK certificate 12 90 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Horror Directed by : Kimble Rendall Starring : Bingbing Li/Kelsey Grammer/Kellan Lutz <><><> An innocent discovery of a well-preserved mummified Emperor from 200 BC China unearths a 2000 year old nightmare - a secret that should have remained buried. <><><> If you don't like spiders then don't watch this film.. A decent enough movie spoilt by bad direction,, A pity because that reflects on the performances which considering, were ok. The special effects were decent enough.. 5.5/10

THIS WEEK'S FILMS ON DVD REVIEWED BravenUK certificate 15 94 mins Genre : Action/Drama Directed by : Lin Oeding Starring : Jason Momoa/Garret Dillahunt/Stephen Lang <><><> A logger defends his family from a group of dangerous drug runners. <><><> A good action movie with excellent performances all round. Location was a good choice as it made the storyline more interesting. The only thing lacking somewhat was the script.. Nevertheless I enjoyed the film Worth a watch 6.5/10 SingularityUK certificate 15 89 mins Genre : Action/Adventure/Drama/Sci-Fi Directed by : Robert Kouba Starring : Julian Schaffner/John Cusack/Carmen Argenziano <><><> In 2020, Elias van Dorne, CEO of VA Industries, the world's largest robotics company, introduces his most powerful invention--Kronos, a super computer designed to end all wars. When Kronos goes online, it quickly determines that mankind, itself, is the biggest threat to world peace and launches a worldwide robot attack to rid the world of the "infection" of man. Ninety-seven years later, a small band of humans remain alive but on the run from the robot army. A teenage boy, Andrew and a teenage girl, Calia, form an unlikely alliance to reach a new world, where it is rumored mankind exists without fear of robot persecution. But does this world actually exist? And will they live long enough to find out? <><><> Not a particularly good film....slow paced with a few action scenes.. The performances were at best average as were the special effects. The two teenagers looked like they had just had a make over, rather than look the part in a broken world... 4/10 Timeline aka Found in TimeUK certificate 15 91 mins Genre : Sci-Fi/Thriller Directed by : Arthur Vincie Starring : MacLeod Andrews/Mina Vesper Gokal/Kelly Sullivan <><><> Chris is a psychic who lives his life out of order - experiencing past, present and future as a jigsaw puzzle. But when he commits a murder in the future, he has to change his past and present in order to prevent it from happening. <><><> The storyline was a tad convoluted and I had difficulty in deciphering what was going on. One I think for hard core Sc-Fi addicts who like a twisty tale. 5/10

Worth a watch.. 6.5/10 Looking GlassUK certificate 18 100 mins Genre : Drama/Thriller Directed by : Tim Hunter Starring : Nicolas Cage/Robin Tunney/Marc Blucas <><><> A psycho- sexual thriller following a couple that buys an old motel in the desert looking for a new beginning, but what seemed at first as an escape is soon a thrilling ride through a mysterious world when Ray discovers a two way mirror and witnesses a horrifying murder. In a twisted game of cat and mouse, Ray must race to save his wife and himself from a gruesome secret connected to the motel and the strange people who visit there. <><><> Well the first half of this film nearly scent me to sleep...following the daily trudge of running a motel. Cage was ok for once and there was an improvement in the second half, but I have to say the plot let it down. Average outing. 5/10
